Cleaning interior brick fireplace. Next pour a grease cutting dish detergent into a small bucket. Mix 3 tablespoons of tsp a neutralized combination of phosphoric acid using sodium hydroxides cup of bleach and a quart of hot not boiling water in a bucket. Apply to the wall with a soft bristled brush.
Apply a seal coat to protect the bricks after cleaning. Spray on the bricks and let is sit for a few minutes. You can also use plain water for this part but if doing so warm or hot water will help you out.
Then with a dry dish cloth gently wipe the entire surface of the brick wall to remove loose dirt and dust. Step 2 remove loose dust and dirt. Test any cleaning material in an inconspicuous spot.
Do not add water to the detergent. This method is best for cleaning small areas like the brick trim around a fireplace. To remove soot from brick that is not in good condition mix a 50 50 solution of laundry bleach and water pour into a spray bottle spritz the bricks then scrub with a soft bristled brush.
For larger areas like a floor or wall go with natural cleaner two vinegar. Brick cleaning process around the fireplace follow the steps below to get your fireplace brick soot free and clean. Go with borax to both clean and disinfect fireplace bricks.
Take decorative accents off the walls and cover floors and furnishings in the vicinity with tarp or old newspaper to protect them from cleaning solvent splatter. Mix equal parts vinegar and water and pour into a spray bottle. For these walls simply mix a mild liquid detergent about 1 2 cup into a gallon of warm water for cleaning.
