Installing Interior Door Frame

Nail the trim to the jamb and studs. Cut 2x4s to the height of the door plus 1 1 2 inches 5 1 cm to allow room for the top of the frame and allowance for leveling the jamb. After the frame is set i usually like to hang the door to check the fit and twea.

If your doorframe is damaged you need a pre hung door which includes the frame and door. To make the door header cut 2x4s to the width of the original opening. This is how i install a pre hung door in under 10 minutes.
